On December 21st, 2019, at 1:30 PM, the Panamanian container ship NIGATA TRADER was about to depart from berth 06 in Dayaowan at Dalian Port. Due to a crew error, oil spilled out of the ship causing pollution in the nearby waters. At the same time, NIGATA TRADER was in a hurry to depart to met its operational goal, however its hull was heavily contaminated which must be cleaned before it enters it next port in Japan.
Around 2:26 PM the same day, our company's general manager, Chen Ming, received phone calls from the shipowner and the ship management company asking for help. After understanding the situation and the requirements, at 2:40 PM, ChinaSpro GM Chen Ming immediately called the captain of our company's emergency response ship, "Yongsheng 6," to turn back and head towards Dayaowan as quickly as possible to arrive on the scene. At the same time, he organized onshore professionals through the phone to assign tasks. At 3:03 pm, the on-site commander, Yuan Xu, and the technical operators Nie Guoxiang and Hu Tongzhou boarded NIGATA TRADER. At 3:30 pm, our emergency response ship "Yongsheng No.6" arrived at the scene of the accident and quickly began to contain and clean up the oil spill.
Nine hours after the initial call from the Shipowner, ChinaSpro successfully cleaned up the ship hull and helped NIGATA TRADER leave the port. At 12:30AM on December 21st, 2019, NIGATA TRADER departed from the port.
